The Joliet Police Department is asking its residents for information regarding an individual, NORMAN A. SIMPSON, who is wanted on a number of charges.
On October 5, 2012 at a westside residence, SIMPSON entered the home with a shotgun. He pointed the shotgun at one of the victims but did not fire. He also struck another victim in the head with the butt of the gun.
On October 14, 2012, SIMPSON is suspected of committing a residential burglary and criminal damage to property after he entered a westside residence and poured gasoline on his ex-girlfriend’s bed waiting for her return. He left prior to her arrival.
On October 15, 2012 at an eastside residence, SIMPSON entered the residence armed with a semi-automatic handgun. Holding his ex-girlfriend’s sister and her boyfriend at gunpoint, SIMPSON struck the boyfriend in the head with the gun.
SIMPSON is currently wanted for probable cause, and Joliet Police detectives are in the process of obtaining arrest warrants. In addition to the above, SIMPSON is wanted on a number of other warrants including failure to appear on a stolen motor vehicle charge, a domestic battery complaint, and a failure to appear on a driving while license suspended charge.
SIMPSON is considered armed and dangerous, and caution should be used when dealing with this individual.
